Fun fact: I have been interviewed by a Disney princess. Guess which one? I’ll wait while you think … (cue Jeopardy music in your head now) …
How cool is that?!
Mulan was inspired by the beautiful and peaceful warrior that is Sifu Mimi Chan. Mimi has many roles including host to her uplifting podcast show, Culture Chat. Her life experiences and background have deepened her empathetic listening which allows her to dive into to her intreviews with an open heart to create a comfortable place for storytellers.
In my interview with Mimi, we talked about how I got started in makeup going way back to the begining with my $100 investment to Mary Kay complete with a play-by play of how I met and started working the Queen of the South, Paula Deen. I share what happened when I met Josh when I moved to Savannah, after discovering an inoperable brain tumor and how I was able to beat it.
One thing I didn’t expect to open up about was caregiving for my beloved Titi Jenny during her time in Hospice. Mimi held what I call sacred space for me as I shared my heart on losing someone I love so much to cancer. End of life caregiving and grief are typically topics people stay away from, but I’m grateful Mimi didn’t run from it and wouldn’t let me grace right over it quickly either! She’s good, y’all.
This episode is jam packed with inspiration, whole hearted stories and a ton of laughs! Click here to see our interview and my silly faces or you can listen to the audio while you drive, do dishes, or maybe when you’re relaxing outside. My favorite time to listen to a podcast is while I’m cooking dinner.
Special thanks to Mimi for all of the love and support! Check Mimi out on social media to catch her weekly Facebook Live wellness show Forty Fit Fu and to see her as Mulan on the Comic Con tour. Of course subscribe and support her show to keep the good work flowing.
Be inspired, my friends! xo
Ps. Another fun fact: We recoreded this episode in the later part of December in 2018, I gave birth to the twins 3 weeks after our interview.0
