After you’re upset and the surge of adrenaline hits your nervous system, what do you do to feel better? My go-to move is to MOVE and clear it out! By redirecting the energy into something positive, I allow myself to regain perspective by stepping back. I call this taking an adult time out to care for myself.
Disclaimer: Self-care is a non-negotiable part of being a human, not a selfish act of pampering ourselves while we steal time away from the important people around us. Self-care isn’t a “treat yo’ self” activity, it’s a “be at peace with yo’ self” way of living. In my experience, my family gets the best from me when I give myself what I need to be my best self. It’s a win-win for us all!
