Truth. What is your truth?
Beyond what anyone believes for you or about you, has taught you or forced on you … what is your truth?
A bigger question you may be thinking is … how does one discover or know their truth? So let’s work on that one together.
The truth is defined as being in accord with reality.
Important note: I didn’t find a definition for truth that said anything about being right. So we are going past the self-righteous idea that I am right and you are wrong.
This simple definition of truth – being in accord with reality – sums up exactly what I’ve learned after surrendering my life and stepping out on radical faith. I only knew I wanted to be in alignment with God’s will.
In case you don’t know my story, I left a very successful life others referred to as “living the dream” to follow a feeling in my gut that I couldn’t ignore anymore or explain well yet.
You know, that feeling of “there’s got to be a better way?!” The rhetorical call for help to anything out there when you feel so overwhelmed … when what’s in your head isn’t matching up with what’s in your heart or the feeling in your gut. Then you feel terrible about whatever you believe to be true about you and your situation.
Today we’re going to open a tiny little corner of our minds to the idea that we are inherently good. So if you’ve ever wanted to drop the old tapes of being bad or that you aren’t enough, GOOD NEWS — this is your chance!
Today we’re going to operate from a space of recognizing our light that is within. Nothing can take it away, not even you, it’s something you were born with.
Let’s take a minute to close our eyes and visit this light within you … with a few breaths, try to imagine a light starting to glow. Feel the comfort from not having to do anything in this moment. You are present, sitting here with me …recognizing a radiant light is within you.
This is the space where I can find my reality, because I’m connecting to my real self. My authentic self, not what others have told me about myself.
This is the place where I can move away from the noise of the world and listen for the whisper of truth.
To feel the feeling of the knowing in my gut. When I allow myself to be in this space of my reality I can start to align myself with it.
Little by little, I honor it. Little by little, I begin to recognize it more. Little by little, I begin to trust it. Little by little, I start to feel better, stronger, wiser.
Your truth is something you always have within you; now you know how to find it. You are the strongest when you know and stand in your truth. No one can tell you what it is, we can only point to it and encourage you to find it for yourself. The truth of what you already know to be true in your heart.
Affirmation: I am in accord with reality when I seek my truth.
The truest, most beautiful dream you can dream waits for you to discover it.
Let’s growing and honoring this relationship with our truth. And remember the truth that the light in me, loves the light in you!
